    The Blue Apron is a student-run full-service restaurant, open Tuesday & Wednesday from 11:00 – 1:00 pm.

    In the French cuisine, the color of an apron worn by the staff denotes the level of mastery. 
    The Blue Apron is known for it's “student in training” approach. Our students are receiving both high school and college credit while enrolled in the program.

After 22 years of service to the Warsaw Area Career Center, Diana Yarian, our Program Specialist, is retiring on December 21st. Diana has been a key component to the inner workings of the WACC & has been instrumental in many key projects including the Non-Traditional Employment for Women Workshop. Please be sure to save-the-date for her retirement party in the Blue Apron Restaurant (located within our career center) from 3-5pm this Thursday, December 20th. We cannot wait to commemorate & celebrate her this week!

Hunter Haines, Brayden Sammons, Hayden Steger are former Warsaw Area Career Center students and recently visited Mrs. Heinsman's Accounting classes to talk about their journey into starting their new adventure: Campus Craves, a unique ice cream & late night foods shop in Bloomington, IN. They talked about their initial dream, the obstacles they overcame along the way, and what's to come for them soon. We appreciate the time they spent sharing their story with our students & wish them the best of luck in the future!!

The Campus Crave journey began just over a year and a half ago. A friend contacted another friend about a possible scratch to their entrepreneurial itch which would satisfy their ever-longing enterprising spirits, all before they even graduated high school. Both coming from families with long ties to entrepreneurial endeavors in a multitude of industries, the friend was intrigued by the idea and a chance to live out his dreams of becoming a young business owner. After an initial meeting, the idea became a feverish quest for research to perfect the vision: Campus Craves.

Simply put, Campus Craves is a fast-casual dining experience, like no other specializing in custom-creation trendy desserts and sandwiches. The main component of our business is our super premium ice cream, followed by edible cookie dough, gourmet sandwiches, air-fried offerings, and lastly classic beverages. We claim to be a fast-casual dining experience due to the layout and organization of our potential stores: Customers order their custom creations and select from our available options as they move through our ordering line.

Co-founders Brayden Sammons and Hunter Haines invite potential customers from all walks of life, to come and satisfy their crave in our fun, college-esque, and one-of-a-kind store where you can $ave Dat Money.


The Warsaw Education Foundation (WEF) is offering the Honor an Educator program for students, parents, community members and staff to recognize a favorite teacher, principal, bus driver, school nurse, cafeteria worker, or any staff member of Warsaw Community Schools for the Holiday Season.  Honor an Educator awards will be delivered the week of December 17th - right before Christmas Break.

The WEF is requesting all completed forms, which are attached below, to be postmarked or delivered to the school office by Monday, December 3, 2018.

The Warsaw Area Career Center is excited to introduce the new Warsaw Early Learning Academy to you, along with the staff members that will be caring for these children. This program was implemented to help support Warsaw Community School staff members & their families. The WELA currently has 23 students with ages ranging from infant through 5 years old. Please see below for bios from our new staff members, more pictures of the facility, & how much fun these sweet children have already been having. 




Lynette Hawn

Warsaw Early Learning Academy Director

Lynette will be in charge of overseeing our new childcare program here at Warsaw Community Schools and will be working directly with the students, as well as supervising the staff. She is responsible for the daily organization of the program and whatever else each day may bring.
Lynette attended Purdue University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development & Family Studies.
She’s been married for 27 years to Joe Hawn (Officer Hawn). They have 3 children; Meghan (20), Nicholas (20) and Jacob (16). They also have 2 dogs; Maggie, a 9-year-old Golden Retriever, and Max a 1-year-old chocolate lab. Lynette has lived in Warsaw/Winona lake for 27 years but grew up in Fort Wayne. She is the oldest of 4 children and her family attends Walnut Creek United Methodist Church.
In her spare time, Lynette loves to bake, go for walks, read, and watch movies with her family.
When asked about her favorite things, Lynette says:
I LOVE Mexican food!! I could eat it every day if my family would agree to it.
My favorite color is yellow.
My favorite flower is a sunflower.
My husband and I have been chaperoning youth mission trips for 24 years at our church Walnut Creek UMC.
I am a Harry Potter fan!! Love the books and movies.
My favorite band is Third Day and lead singer Mac Powell. I have seen them in concert 20 times.



Erin Schramm
Assistant Director: Infant/Toddler

Erin will be in charge of taking care of all the daily needs of our youngest Tigers in the infant/toddler room. She is very excited about the opportunity to serve our staff & their families in this role.
Erin grew up here in Warsaw, attended Grace College in Winona Lake, and has 3 brothers. She has been married to her husband Drew for just over a year.

Some of her favorites include the color blue, meal: meatloaf, mac & cheese, and green bean casserole, and dessert: brownies or chocolate chip cookies. An interesting fact about Erin is that she has a twin brother, Ethan.
During her free time, she loves to play tennis, ultimate frisbee, bike riding, going for walks, and spending time with family & friends.



Shelby Swartz
Assistant Director: Preschool

Shelby will be in charge of teaching the preschool class (ages 3-5), but also is serving in a part-time advisory role with our FFA Chapter. This school year she is most excited to get to know all of her students and to be able to help them succeed in every way possible.
Shelby is a Wawasee High School graduate and is currently attending North Carolina State University.
During her spare time, Shelby loves to take naps, do anything outdoors (camping, gardening, kayaking, etc.) & spend time with her family, boyfriend, & dogs. Her favorite color is turquoise and her favorite food is anything grilled.  


WACC/WCHS Parents & Students:

Don't forget you're invited to our Back to School event happening right here in our building tomorrow night, Thursday, Aug. 23, from 
4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. 

Parents & students are encouraged to come to visit and tour the WACC/WCHS and learn more about everything our schools have to offer. You won't want to miss this exciting event!
