Radio & TV Program Highlight
Radio and TV I is perfect for students interested in video editing, filming, news writing, and/or who desire to improve their ability to communicate successfully with others through audio and visual messages. During this introductory broadcasting course, students will learn how to properly use and care for ENG and studio equipment as well as some of the critical vocabulary used in professional radio and television. Students will learn the basics of editing with Adobe Audition and Premiere Pro. Through studying the basics of ENG camera operations, students will be able to film their own short videos to use as they learn to edit. They will also have several hands-on experiences including writing and recording public service announcements (for radio on WIOE/WLQZ) and a news story (T.V.). In addition, students will learn the basics of television studio operations while briefly rotating through various roles and responsibilities in the WACC TV studio and control room. Students who take this course and finish with a “C-” or higher are eligible to apply for acceptance into Television Production II which creates the school’s news and is a 4-hour dual credit course in cooperation with Huntington University.  They are also eligible to enroll in Radio II a 2-hour dual credit course also in cooperation with Huntington University.
