Over May 1st through the 5th, six Warsaw Area Career Center students participated in the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA, along with over 6,000 people from around the United States. These students had to place in the top of the state of Indiana at our State Leadership Conference in order to qualify to go to Nationals. Students had the opportunity to participate in the conference, compete in their competition, and to see a variety of places around the Anaheim/LA region.

The following students participated in the conference:

Abby Wilson, Reagan Roulo, and Megan Dawson in Global Marketing Team event
Lachlan Lennox in Business Law & Ethics
Bryce Welk in 2 events, Computer Security and PC Serving & Trouble Shooting

The final highlight of the conference was watching Lachlan Lennox receive his national first place plaque!

Congratulations on these accomplishments!

May 9th to the 13th was the Business Professional of America National Leadership Conference in Grapevine, Texas, just outside of Dallas. Students that attended were Senior, Brandon Bailey, and sophomores Bryce Welk and Katie Swain. They were accompanied by BPA Sponsor, Scott Schramm, and his wife, Anne.

To qualify for NLC the students had to rank in the top of the State of Indiana in their respective contests during the State Leadership Conference held in March. Brandon competed in both the Computer Network Technology and the Network Administration Using Microsoft competitions. Katie competed in Fundamental Accounting and Bryce in Computer Security. Brandon made it on the national stage with a 7th place finish in Computer Network Technology.

Students had opportunities to compete in other open events, attend breakout leadership sessions and general assemblies, network with students from around the U.S., and explore places in Dallas.

BPA would like to thank Flexaust for their financial support this spring to help make this trip possible!

The BPA National Leadership Conference and Competitions will be held in Dallas, TX, May 9-13, 2018.

The WCHS/WACC Business Marketing Info Tech & Entrepreneurship Dept’s students competed well, pitted against the knowledge and skills of students from other schools from across the state.

As these students move on to engage in national-level competition, our community may take pride in knowing they represent Warsaw and Indiana well.

The costs of traveling to Texas and staying for the length of the conference are high, and our BPA Chapter will be looking to partner with local businesses wishing to support these students as they move on to the “next level”.
