For the next few weeks, we will be highlighting our students who are considered non-traditional. A 'non-traditionalCTE student is considered one who is pursuing a career or technical education program related to an occupation which employs less than 25% of their gender.

Zach McNulty is in the Culinary Arts program here at the Warsaw Area Career Center. In addition to Culinary Arts & Hospitality I & II, Zach has taken Adult Roles & Responsibilities, Child Development, Advanced Child Development, Interpersonal Relationships, & Nutrition and Wellness. Zach says that he actually took Culinary Arts by accident, as he meant to sign up for welding, but it was the best mistake he's made. Zach is proud to be Serv Safe Certified, Pro-Start Certified, and to have recently won the 4-H Culinary Cook-Off Competition. In his spare time, Zach likes to help out with any extra Blue Apron events & works part-time at Oak & Alley Restaurant here in Warsaw. Upon graduation, Zach plans to attend Ivy Tech Community College to finish his degree in Culinary Arts. He hopes to have his own restaurant someday as well. Congrats Zach! We are super proud of you & wish you the best of luck in the future!!

Yesterday Miss Bassett's Nutrition & Wellness class had fun making breakfast burritos in the foods lab. Each group chose a recipe and which toppings they'd like to include. The finished products looked delicious!

Congratulations to Warsaw Area Career Center's very own, Dena Lancaster, on receiving the Golden Apple Award recently! We are so proud of and thankful for you!

From WCHS Principal, Troy Akers: Mrs. Lancaster is everywhere!  She has volunteered for many activities for students and with her colleagues.  Her classes are always engaging and students often speak of highly of their experiences with Mrs. Lancaster.

Dena worked really hard to give her students a realistic interview scenario when she organized the Community Led interviews before the break.  She also attended the SEL Summit and has volunteered for multiple after school events recently including Quiz Bowl, judging at the FFA District competition, and being on USG.
