Nontraditional CTE Student Highlight: Darby McDairmant
Darby McDairmant is a senior here at Warsaw Community High School & Warsaw Area Career Center and is currently in Mr. Zakaria's Project Lead the Way: Honors Civil Engineering & Architecture class. Previously she's taken these WACC classes: Intro to Business, Intro to Fashion & Textiles, Advanced Fashion & Textiles, Intro to Engineering Design for Women, Project Lead the Way: Intro to Engineering for Women (Dual Credit with Ivy Tech), Web Design I, Preparing for College & Careers, Nutrition & Wellness, & Child Development & Parenting.
Darby says that she decided to take Engineering as she not only was interested in the subject but thought it would be a good way to try out the career. She was also excited to just have the opportunity to take the class.
When she's not in school, Darby is busy with her part-time job and is in the ASL Club.
Upon graduation, Darby plans to go to International Business College in Fort Wayne to pursue a degree in Travel & Hospitality. She hopes to one day become an event planner.
Congrats Darby & thanks for allowing us to feature you on the website today!
