From Mrs. Heinsman: It’s always a great day when a former student wants to come back and speak with my students. Thanks, Evan Miller, for speaking about your upcoming accounting career at PWC and fellowship in accountancy at The Ohio State University! Very proud of you and great to catch up! Can’t wait to continue to hear about your journey!!
Principles of Marketing students recently completed ice cream business marketing projects. The students worked in groups to develop business plans for their own ice cream parlors, complete with unique ingredients, business names, specials, pricing, target age groups, advertisement strategies, etc. Several WCS staff, parents, & community members had the opportunity to participate in judging each group in various categories. All of the students did such a wonderful job with these projects & it was amazing to see how talented they truly are. Great job everyone!

Lucas Rhodes is a senior here at WCHS/WACC. He has taken many WACC classes, including Business Law & Ethics, Digital Applications, Principles of Business Management, Personal Financial Responsibility, Web Design I, PLTW Principles of Biomedical Science, & Preparing for College & Careers.

He recently earned 1st place in the state of Indiana as a Microsoft Office Specialist. Last fall when he took the Digital Applications class, he earned his Microsoft Office Specialist certification in Word 2016 through Certiport. He was automatically entered into their contest for the 2017 MOS US National Championship Fall Qualifier and finished first! He will move on and compete in Atlanta, Georgia later this spring.

Congrats, Lucas! We are so proud of you. Thanks for letting us feature you on the blog today!

Lynnae Haan: Business & Computer Science Educator

Ms. Haan attended Grace College in Winona Lake, IN. She teaches Project Lead the Way: Computer Science Essentials (which is her favorite), Web Design I, Networking I & II, and Computer Tech Support. Lynnae has also enjoyed being a guest speaker for the last two years at the Non-Tradition Employment for Women Conference that the WACC sponsors. She lives in the area with two awesome roommates and a dog. For fun, she loves to go camping, hiking, kayaking, cooking, do crossword puzzles, work at the Light Rail Cafe as a baker, work on the Dixie Boat, attend trivia night in town, and watch the Bulls play. A few fun facts about Ms. Haan: she taught swim lessons to people (toddlers-adults) but loved business as well- computer science was kind of on accident but she loves it now; she's never seen the Harry Potter movies; and hates monopoly, texting, & tomatoes.

Special thanks to Ms. Haan for providing this awesome information & allowing us to showcase her during National Career & Technical Education Month. We are so thankful for all of our wonderful CTE teachers!

Very proud of WACC Co-Op student, Jacob Bradley, who is pursuing a career in machining at Tecomet! What a great career in our area! Keep working hard!
