The Family & Consumer Sciences Advisory Council composed of many community members & WACC staff, met this week for a fall planning discussion session. Students in current FACS classes were also able to attend and showcased projects they are currently working on.

The Warsaw FFA & FCCLA Chapters participated in Homecoming festivities last Friday evening. FCCLA members decorated and rode in a float with an "Alice in Wonderland" theme, while FFA members enjoyed a tailgate outside the Agriculture rooms- complete with burgers & fun games! The WCHS Homecoming theme for 2017 was Disney. Enjoy the pictures below from the parade & FFA tailgate!

Our Family & Consumer Science Advisory Group enjoyed two excellent--national qualifier presentations from this year's FCCLA members. They are amazing representatives of our department and FCCLA. The group also discussed steps we will take to continue to improve our FACS program.

Gabriella Grayson, WCHS Junior, has taken several Family & Consumer Sciences classes including Nutrition & Wellness, Preparing for College & Careers, Interpersonal Relationships, Human Development & Wellness, and Leadership Development. In her spare time, Gabby runs track, serves as the FCCLA Co-President, and works at Millers Merry Manor in activities. She is proud to have been named an Optimist Club Student of the Week twice so far during her high school career. Next year, Gabby plans to take the Certified Nursing Assistant class here in the WACC through Ivy Tech Community College. Upon her WCHS graduation, Gabriella plans to attend college to obtain a degree in Nursing. She would like to work as a trauma and flight nurse. Gabby also has a dream of opening a smoothie shop someday with her mom.
