Many Warsaw Area Career Center students participated in & contributed to a community service project titled: Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan's Purse. Operation Christmas Child helps to not only provide a shoebox full of goodies for Christmas to children ages 2-14 from over 100 different countries, but also begins a journey of discipleship in places where people may not know Christ.
The WACC collected 55 boxes which means our students provided 55 children with the opportunity to hear the message of the Gospel. We are so blessed with such generous & compassionate students and are thankful for all of those who participated!
For more information about Operation Christmas Child, check out their website here: Samaritan's Purse
Kierra, who is taking Fashion & Textiles this semester, saw a need, had an idea and enriched our school community this week. After a recent visit to the nurse, Kierra found that there were no heating pads available to students. She decided to create reusable bags that can be heated and used to reduce pain. Nurse Megan was thankful for this generous donation. Thanks, Kierra, for enriching the lives of others at WACC/WCHS!!!
Mr. Trent Long gave Mrs. Hopper's Radio and TV I students a tour of DePuy's television studio and control room. Students were able to learn a great deal about how to get started in the Broadcasting field as well as how they could find jobs utilizing their skills locally. DePuy graciously donated their SD equipment to Mrs. Hopper's class when they switched to an all HD studio. Her students are blessed to be using such high-quality professional equipment.
On Tuesday, November 21st, the Warsaw FFA Chapter will host their 14th Annual Community Appreciation Supper & Member Workers’ Auction in the WCHS Cafeteria. The evening will begin with a free chili and hot dog supper that will be served from 5:30-7:00 p.m. FFA members will be serving supper to show their appreciation for the support local businesses and community members have provided to the chapter over the years.
FFA members volunteer four hours of community service in return for a monetary donation to our chapter to support activities throughout the year. Some of the activities include state and national conventions, career development events, leadership contests, supplies and materials for those contests and monthly chapter activities. This annual event is a great way to support your local FFA chapter and impact its members!
All community members and businesses are invited to join us for an evening of good food and fun!
