Five students from Amy Richards' Nutrition & Wellness class at Whitko High School earned their ServSafe Certifications recently. ServSafe is a food and beverage safety training & certification program administered by the National Restaurant Association. Congrats to these awesome WACC students!

Last week Inspire College of Cosmetology hosted their open house for the incoming cosmetology students. Parents & students, both, were able to tour the facility and ask any questions they had regarding the program. We are excited to have 19 incoming cosmetology students!

Don't forget that our current cosmetology seniors need your help to finish up their credits before graduation on June 8th. 

Their summer hours are as follows:

Tuesday- Thursday:

     9am-4:30pm


Friday:

    8am-4:30pm


Saturday:

    8am-12pm

Also, note that they will not take clients at the closing time, so please arrive prior to their posted closing time. Thank you for your support of Inspire!

Work-Based Learning Co-Op Employer Appreciation Luncheon

 Warsaw Area Career Center, Work-Based Learning Co-Op students recently honored their supervisors at an Employer Appreciation Luncheon presented by Vitale Events at 2517 in Warsaw.

The 33 Co-Op students expressed appreciation to their supervisors for their guidance and understanding in teaching them professional skills and aiding them in the transition from school to the training site.

The Work-Based Learning Co-Op Student of the Year recipient was Ciara Stout, who worked in the Human Resources Department at Tecomet under the supervision of Kay Kelley.

Positive Attitude Awards were presented to Liza Lewis, Nick Marsh, and Christian Raish.  Professional Growth Awards were presented to Brenda Alvarado, Noah Diaz, Dillon King, Kyle Rickert, and Hannah Williams.  Work-Based Learning Co-Op Excellence Awards were presented to Mia Beckham, Emali Grose, Colton Lind, Brendan Perry, Savannah Taylor, and Matthew Watson.

The Warsaw Building Trades program hosted their open house Wednesday evening. This is the 36th year for the Building Trades Program.  Twenty-two students, under the direction of their instructor, Eric Taylor, worked on the home owned by Chris and Reily Frankum.   The students were involved in framing, roofing, siding, window and door installation, insulating, drywalling, painting, trimming and concrete work.

The home is a one-story ranch style house with approximately 2,800 finished square feet. The home is equipped with a high-efficiency gas furnace and central air.

The students that worked on the home are Jonathan Aca, Jose Alvarez, Noah Boren, Christian Carnegie, Cole Davis, Zachary Dutton, William Dye, Austin Fisher, Bryan Gonzalez, Zachary Howard, Ian Jones, Reality Lawson, Trevor Lomperski, Jesus Lopez, Mauricio Medellin, Carlos Medoza, Tristan Mobley, Christian Moyotl, Armando Munguia, Hunter Scott and Jared Teeple.
