Last Friday, our awesome culinary students had the opportunity to serve lunch to WCHS Veteran's Day guest speaker, Thomas Franklin, and other distinguished guests. Mr. Thomas Franklin is an award-winning American Photographer, multimedia journalist, documentary filmmaker, and college professor at Montclair State University who is best known for his iconic flag-raising photograph taken at Ground Zero on September 11, 2001. We were honored to have Mr. Franklin speak to WCHS/WACC students & staff during our Veteran's Day convocation.

It’s that time of year again.  The Warsaw FFA is selling a variety of delicious and healthy fruit along with a variety of cheeses and sausages.  The fruit is shipped straight to us by means of Blue Freedom Fresh Fruit Company, so freshness and quality is always guaranteed.  It does not matter what kind of fruit you like because we have everything from apples, pears, oranges, tangelos, pineapples, and grapefruit along with sampler and gift boxes in varying quantities.

The proceeds of the fundraiser will provide opportunities for FFA members to attend trips to Indianapolis, Indiana for the National FFA Convention, and West Lafayette, Indiana for the State FFA Convention.  It will also provide for such FFA career and leadership development (CDEs/ LDEs) events such as crops evaluation, forestry evaluation, and entomology evaluation, welding, livestock skill-a-thon evaluation, parliamentary procedure, demonstrations, public speaking, community service projects, along with FFA Week Activities.

Fruit sales began on Wednesday, October 18th and will continue to Wednesday, November 22nd.  An FFA member will deliver the fruit to your door during the week of December 11th, just in time for Christmas.  For additional information or to order your fruit, contact any Warsaw FFA member or Warsaw Community HS Ag Dept. at (574) 371-5099 ext. 2353.

FFA is a national youth organization for grades 7-12 that consists of 649,355 student members preparing for leadership and careers in science, business and technology of agriculture with 7,859 local chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
