Rose Love's Project Lead the Way: Biomedical Innovations & Sciences classes have had the opportunity to hear from a special guest speaker the last two days. Marti Pollnow, a Cardiovascular Technologist in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Goshen Hospital, shared her passion for her career with these students. Marti not only showed them what a day in the Cath Lab looks like for her but also taught them about the wide variety of cases she sees on a weekly basis. The students were able to see and practice with some of the equipment she uses on her patients on a daily basis, as well. Marti then tested the students' knowledge of the cardiovascular system as they've been learning about heart disease and structures recently. Special thanks to Mrs. Pollnow for taking time out of her busy schedule to invest in the lives of our students!

Mrs. Coates Medical Terminology students recently had a guest speaker, Melissa Pence, a Registered Nurse from Kosciusko Community Hospital, come in to discuss antibiotic stewardship and the flu.
Mrs. Heinsman’s Honors Introduction to Accounting students had the opportunity to celebrate a recent testing achievement yesterday morning, in addition to hearing from a special guest speaker.

These students were rewarded with a chai, hot chocolate, and cookies party because they worked so diligently to score almost all A’s on a huge test- no one scored below a B+!

Former WCHS/WACC Valedictorian (Class of 2015) and current finance student at Indiana University, Jake Mangas, shared an encouraging & inspiring message with the students about his experiences in school & in the business world.

Congrats to these accounting students and special thanks to Jake for stopping by to visit us!!

Peggy Roulo came to visit the Advanced Culinary Arts students in the Blue Apron today, to teach them a few tips & techniques about what she's learned over the years as "The Cake Lady" of Warsaw. She not only shared her cake decorating skills, but also talked about the business aspect of her life & the importance of building relationships with customers.

The Warsaw Area Career Center truly appreciates the time Peggy spends investing into our students!

Earlier this week, the Warsaw Fire Department visited our culinary students in the Blue Apron to teach about fire extinguisher safety training. The students also had the opportunity to prepare, serve, and eat lunch with the firemen present. Special thanks to WFD for their support & help with so many things around the WACC!
