This morning the Warsaw Area Career Center welcomed about eighty-five female 8th grade students from both Lakeview & Edgewood Middle Schools. These young women were not only given the opportunity to talk with female engineers from our community but also explore the wide variety of Engineering & Technology Education Academies offered here at WACC.

The keynote speaker was Jennifer Molinda, of ZimmerBiomet. Jennifer is a Senior I Product Development Engineer in the Hip Business Segment. During her address she discussed how and why she chose her career path, the education she received to get there, and various aspects of her current occupation. She also discussed the challenges and rewards of being a female in the engineering field as well as ways to get involved as an engineer through the Society of Women Engineers.

The guests were treated to a light breakfast including quiche, sausages, fruit, muffins, and breads that were provided by students in the Blue Apron.

WCS staff would like to extend sincere gratitude to the 18 engineers, who came from Depuy, ZimmerBiomet, Tecomet, and Medtronic, that volunteered their time this morning to inspire these young women.

Another special thanks to our Blue Apron students and Chef Bragg for their hard work and beautiful presentation.
