On Saturday, January 26, the Warsaw FFA Chapter Meeting (parliamentary procedure) Team competed in the Indiana State FFA Chapter Meeting Contest held at Lebanon High School.  They earned 6th place in the state in this extremely difficult contest- a great accomplishment!

The purpose of the contest is to demonstrate the correct procedures of an official FFA chapter meeting, including opening ceremonies, order of business, handling of numerous motions and closing ceremonies. Student objectives include demonstrating the use parliamentary procedure to conduct an orderly and efficient meeting, demonstrate knowledge of parliamentary law and reference Robert’s Rules of Order, present logical, realistic, and convincing discussion, and record complete and accurate minutes.

The members involved were (in attached picture L to R):

Morgan Smith, Reagan Rowland, Ciara Stout, Bailey Hanes, Valerie Messmore, Jacob Baker. Zach Howard, Ayden Ault, and Hunter Lane.

Warsaw FFA Advisors Jacob Riley and Julie Carrell along with community member Ot Schroeder coached the team.  Special thanks also to Brent and Renea Messmore for their assistance.

Mrs. Hopper's Video Editing students filmed their "What's in the Box?" projects today. Students learn about scripting, filming techniques, and the editing process during the course of the semester.  This class is a great class for anyone interested in film, broadcasting, or just wanting another marketable skill for today's tech-savvy workplace.

Last night WCHS/WACC hosted an open house, showcasing all of the wonderful course offerings available within the school. Students & parents had the opportunity to get insiders view on what courses will be offered next year and gather detailed information on courses of interest. Many hands-on activities and demonstrations were a huge hit including welding demos, Cuban sandwiches from the Blue Apron students, & a "tour around the world" in Agriculture. Special thanks to all of our amazing teachers for showing off their cool classes! Check out the fun below!

The Warsaw Area Career Center recently received a $1000.00 grant from DuPont Pioneer for their continued implementation of the Curriculum for Agriculture Science Education (CASE curriculum). The funds will provide Warsaw Area Career Center and the Warsaw Agriculture Department with the supplies and resources needed to help with professional development training for the CASE Principles of Agriculture Science- Animals curriculum. This curriculum continues the hands-on approach while furthering STEM integration into agriculture courses. The WACC would like to thank Clunette Elevator for their continued support of the Warsaw Agriculture Department & FFA Chapter.
