Students in Ms. Tiede's Advanced Child & Development classes recently participated in an activity that helped them better understand the importance of protecting the environment and child safety when it comes to dogs. The students were made aware of the danger of leaving behind their dogs waste as it can carry harmful bacteria & microbes that can easily make its way to lakes & streams nearby. They also learned about how children are more susceptible to be exposed to these wastes as they spend more time closer to the ground- playing around it and then touching their mouths, eyes, etc. So, to also incorporate physical activity into this lesson, students relay raced across the WACC commons area to pick up (play dough) dog poop. These students had fun while learning to protect the environment and children both!

National FFA Southern Region Vice President DeShawn Blanding recently visited the Warsaw FFA Agriculture Department. DeShawn spent the afternoon doing a leadership activity with Ag students. After school, a few of our FFA members gave DeShawn a tour of the Village at Winona- including a stop at Rocket Fizz Candy Shop! The Warsaw Ag Department & FFA Chapter were incredibly thankful for the opportunity to have DeShawn visit the WACC. Check out the article below from Ink Free New for more information about DeShawn's visit.
