In honor of National Manufacturing Day on October 6th, OrthoWorx held the "Think Ortho Tour" last Thursday right here in The Orthopedic Capital of the World. Over 200 8th graders from area schools & their parents attended the program that hoped to encourage students to pursue technical careers in the growing orthopedic industry. The event included tours of Ivy Tech's Orthopedic & Advanced Manufacturing Training Center (OAMTC), the Warsaw Area Career Center Welding Lab, and a local orthopedic company, Precision Medical Technologies. Students & parents both were able to learn about the orthopedic industry, advanced manufacturing career opportunities available in the Warsaw area, and the skills needed to pursue those exciting careers. The Think Ortho Tour was part of OrthoWorx's Talent Development Initiative to address the skills gap in the orthopedic industry. Special thanks to OrthoWorx, PMT, the WACC, & the OAMTC for making this event possible!

The OAMTC Director, Tom Till, along with our WACC Director, Ronna Kawsky, had the opportunity to share about this event on the local news which can be viewed here:

During the week of September 25th, students and staff were given the opportunity to contribute to the Kosciusko Cancer Care Fund.  Buckets were distributed in classrooms and offices for money to be collected.  Pink t-shirts were also sold, with $5 from every sale going directly to the Kosciusko Cancer Care Fund.  A goal of $2,100 was set and students were told that the administrators would dye their hair pink if the goal was met.  A total of $3,044.80 was generously donated! We are proud of our WCHS/WACC students for living out the WCS mission by enriching the lives of others in such an incredible way!
