WACC WBL Co-Op student, Ana, is currently employed at the Otis R. Bowen Center. She is preparing for her future career in the mental health field. Her supervisor, Jennifer Hatcher, stated that Ana is "part of my team. She has been trained in all areas because that is what we need her to do." She was quick to state how proud she is about Ana's progress this year in the WBL Co-Op program. Ana stated that her job is providing valuable experience for her future because she is learning the "behind the scenes" work, including paperwork and procedures. She plans to pursue a career in the mental health field at Grace College, beginning in the fall of 2015. We're proud of Ana, and we're thankful to Bowen Center for providing the great experience!
Shelby Stone was named the Mason Health and Rehab January 2015 Employee of the Month. She is a current Work-Based Learning Co-Op student who earned her CNA license and has been working at Mason's for the school year. She is well respected by her colleagues and demonstrates professionalism and a positive attitude. She continues to progress and learn in her position, and she has received excellent reviews. Her positive spirit inspires others. Mrs. Heinsman and Mrs. Allison are so proud of Shelby's hard work! Thank you, Mason's, for working with Shelby and recognizing her great work!
Tyler Stahly, who is enrolled in the Work-Based Learning Co-Op program, is gaining great experience in all aspects of his family's business, The Spectacle Shoppe. Tyler wants to pursue a college degree in order to be educationally prepared for the challenges of working in this business, and he has started his experience through the WACC Co-Op program. When visiting, he demonstrated the ability to work through many of the entry-level lens grinding steps, and he could explain the entire process step-by-step. He also has been able to work with customers, and sometimes he even has to file! :( This has been a great experience for Tyler! Thanks, Spectacle Shoppe!
