BUILDING TRADES OPEN HOUSE The Building Trades program of the Warsaw Area Career Center will be hosting an OPEN HOUSE from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.The house is located at 584 E. Riviera Dr. Warsaw, IN. Watch for OPEN HOUSE signs.This is the 36th year for the Building Trades Program. Twenty-two students, under the direction of instructor, Eric Taylor, worked on the home owned by Chris and Reily Frankum. The students were involved in framing, roofing, siding, window and door installation, insulating, drywalling, painting, trimming and concrete work.The home is a one-story ranch style house with approximately 2,800 finished square feet. The home is equipped with a high-efficiency gas furnace and central air.The students that worked on the home are Jonathan Aca, Jose Alvarez, Noah Boren, Christian Carnegie, Cole Davis, Zachary Dutton, William Dye, Austin Fisher, Bryan Gonzalez, Zachary Howard, Ian Jones, Reality Lawson, Trevor Lomperski, Jesus Lopez, Mauricio Medellin, Carlos Medoza, Tristan Mobley, Christian Moyotl, Armando Munguia, Hunter Scott and Jared Teeple.
For the next few weeks, we will be highlighting our students who are considered non-traditional. A 'non-traditional' CTE student is considered one who is pursuing a career or technical education program related to an occupation which employs less than 25% of their gender.
Reallity Lawson is a junior here at Warsaw Community High School & the Warsaw Area Career Center and is in our Building Trades Program. In addition, she has also taken Project Lead the Way: Honors Engineering, Introduction to Engineering Design, Design Processes, & Introduction to Construction here in the WACC. Reallity says that she's taken these classes because they will help her in her future career as an architectural engineer. Her extra-curricular activities include Track & Dance. Upon graduation next year, Reallity would like to go to college & major in Architecture and Engineering.
The afternoon Building Trades class has been working hard on their current house project. The house looks amazing & we can't wait to see the finished product. Stay tuned for our open house announcement, towards the end of the school year. Great job guys & keep up the good work!
Hunter Scott is a senior here at WCHS/WACC and is in our Building Trades program. He is currently employed at Discount Tire in Warsaw. Hunter is involved in Kosciusko County 4H and is the Junior Leaders Club President. During his free time, Hunter enjoys hanging out with friends, working on cars, and racing. Upon graduation, he plans to attend the University of Northern Ohio to major in Diesel Mechanics & High Performance.

Eric Taylor's Building Trades I & II students have been hard at work already this school year. Today they helped pour the concrete foundation of the garage. The house looks great so far!
