Mrs. Carmichael's Fashion and Textile students are finishing their first project--a pillowcase. The complimentary colors of the fabrics the students chose were lovely. Most of these students have never used a sewing machine before this semester. From the "magic" of creating the cuff to the final press, students are learning valuable life lessons and having a great time while learning!
Students in Mrs. Lancaster's Adult Roles & Responsibilities classes were able to participate in a Mock Graduation Ceremony last week. Mrs. Lancaster gave each of them a certificate and then gave a speech to help motivate & encourage them to follow their dreams, achieve their goals, and to never give up. The students celebrated with cake & punch after the ceremony.
Special thanks to Alicia Elder, EMT & Paramedic with Lutheran EMS, for coming into Ms. Renbarger's & Mrs. Carmichael's Child Development classes yesterday & today to not only teach them the importance of CPR but to also help them earn their certifications to be qualified to administer it when needed.
On our last student day of school, both culinary classes hosted a special tasting lunch for the Family & Consumer Science teachers to enjoy. Chef Bragg's students teamed up to serve multiple courses and then were judged on the dishes they prepared. The menu included spicy breaded chicken, salad, pasta, and many types of cheesecake. Everything looked delicious and the students did such a wonderful job with everything they served to our teachers!
