For the next few weeks, we will be highlighting our students who are considered non-traditional. A 'non-traditionalCTE student is considered one who is pursuing a career or technical education program related to an occupation which employs less than 25% of their gender.

Abbi Curtis is a senior here at Warsaw Community High School/Warsaw Area Career Center & will be graduating with three WACC Career Academies, including Animal Science, Natural Resource Management, & Horticulture/Plant Science. She is currently taking Agribusiness Management but has also taken Natural Resource Management, Animal Science, Horticulture, Plant & Soil Science, & Advanced Life Science: Animals here in the Career Center. Abbi says that she knew she wanted to pursue a degree in Agriculture so not only did all of these classes interest her, but she also had heard great things about our Ag program. When she is not at school, Abbi is involved in track, 4-H, and FFA. She's achieved much in these activities including; 4-H: Grand Champion, Champion, Reserve Champion, & the Ambition Award, Track: Rookie of the Year & Fastest Sprinter, FFA: Highest Fruit Seller, Top Crops Judge, Greenhand & Chapter Degrees. Upon graduation, Abbi plans to attend Ivy Tech Community College to get an Associates Degree in Agribusiness and then finish her Bachelors at Purdue University. Congrats Abbi on all of your accomplishments! We

Lynnae Haan's Project Lead the Way: Computer Science classes recently designed a robotics course around their classroom, complete with many obstacles! The students did an awesome job & it was fun to watch their robots maneuver around the room.

Congratulations to the newly elected Warsaw FFA Chapter Officer team for the 2018-2019 school year. These members were slated last evening and will be installed at the Annual Spring Banquet next Friday evening by the retiring officer team. We are so proud of these members & are excited to see what amazing things they will accomplish this year.

In addition to the officer election, Mr. Walmer lent his interviewing expertise during the meeting. With the help of Hunter Lane, & Zach Howard, they demonstrated how to give your best... and worst interviews!  Special thanks to Mr. Walmer for offering him time & talent to the over 40 FFA members that attended the meeting last night.

Yesterday Miss Bassett's Nutrition & Wellness class had fun making breakfast burritos in the foods lab. Each group chose a recipe and which toppings they'd like to include. The finished products looked delicious!
