On Thursday, August 20, 16 Warsaw FFA members and 2 advisors traveled to Tom Farms to assist with their Annual Customer Appreciation Supper.

FFA members (from Warsaw and Wawasee) helped serve food, provide child care, transport community members to and from their cars and assisted with other activities throughout the evening. This was a great way for FFA members and community businesses to next work and discuss the future of Agriculture in our community and globally.

Warsaw FFA is proud to be actively be involved in community service projects throughout the county.

Warsaw FFA Chapter members participated in the 86th Indiana State FFA Convention June 16th­June 18th, 2015.

This was a great way to start the summer show casing all of the chapter’s successes for the year and preparing for the 2015/­2016 school year.

FFA received the honor of being a Top 30 Chapter Award and a Bronze Chapter recipient.

Noah Ault; Landscape Management, Sydney Susaraba; Home and Community
Development, and Alexis Himes; (not pictured), Vegetable Production received first
place in their respective proficiency and were sent on compete nationally.

Bryan Thompson placed fourth in the state in Diversified Crop Production.

The following members received their Hoosier Degree; Coltin Brumfield, Haley Lytle, Dakota Koontz,
Bryan Thompson and Cole Trounter.

The Quiz Bowl team consisting of Jessica Madden, Bailey Buhrt, Morgan Smith and Abria Federico competed after receiving first
place in the District completion.

Morgan Smith also represented District II FFA in the Creed competition and Patrick Meyers in the state essay contest. Anne Rego, Indiana
State Vice President of Choir, also participated as a member of the state choir and showcased her talent at a session and awards luncheon.

We also had the honor of watching our very own, Lindsey O’Hara, 2014­/2015 Indiana Northern Region Vice President give her retiring address and chair the Second General Session of
convention.

Warsaw FFA is ready to kick off this school year and reach for the stars as it begins recruiting for this year’s membership drive.
We would like to invite all interested junior high and high students to attend our next FFA meeting on Wednesday, September 30th, 2015 in Y­189 at the Warsaw Area Career Center.

Did you know? Each year, FFA chapters around the country celebrate National FFA Week. The week-long tradition began in 1947 when the National FFA Board of Directors designated the week of George Washington's birthday as National FFA Week in recognition of his legacy as an agriculturist and farmer. The first National FFA Week was held in 1948. Today, FFA Week always runs Saturday to Saturday and encompasses Feb. 22, Washington's birthday.
