Adulting is hard!! Students in Preparing for College & Careers used their values, goals and life experiences to determine how the money they would earn would be spent for needs and wants. Many important lessons were learned and students made and defended excellent choices. #WACC #CTE #RealLifeEducation

Freshman students in Preparing for College & Careers work together to learn and practice good team building skills. Our FACS teachers prepared many activities for their students to bond & work together last week during their first few days of school. Some students built gingerbread houses together while others used only rubber bands to build towers out of plastic cups.

Mrs. Carmichael's Careers classes are practicing interviewing skills. They will watch a video of their own interview to evaluate how they can improve before going to a real interview.

Melinda Wise, Extension Educator- 4-H Youth Development of Kosciusko County, recently visited several Family & Consumer Sciences classes in the WACC. She discussed interviewing skills and particularly focused on practicing answering interview questions. Students watched interview clips from famous movies and then had the opportunity to not only answer questions themselves, but to also distinguish between good & bad answers. Thanks Mindy & Purdue Extension for partnering with our FACS classes!

Student's in Ms. Dinse's Preparing for College & Careers class held "Speed Interviews" today during 3rd period. Ten students at a time did the interviewing while the other half of the class were the interviewees. Those interviewing had one minute to sell themselves to the potential employer by answering a short question as to why they should be chosen for the job.
